COMMISSIONED WORK - NOT FOR SALE
Site salvaged material, personal belongings and spirit. Tie wire, steel, adhesives. Approx. size: height 2.3m width .9m
This floral symbol of renewal and growth is constructed of artefacts saved from Ross White’s Duffy home destroyed in Canberra’s January 18 bushfires. Its foundation constructed from burnt work tools supports golf clubs, cutlery set and molten crystal decanter. A sense of leisure and entertainment is evoked by it within Ross, compelling him to connect and communicate through social activity and entertainment. |

PYROGLYPHICS |

|
| PYROGLYPHICS was an exhibition of artworks responding to Canberra¹s January 2003 fires. The exhibition, held in September-October 2003, was organised and curated by Denny Allnutt as a contribution to the recovery process. It comprised over 60 works by 20 artists, and involved collaboration with many fire-affected residents from Canberra¹s western suburbs, as well as institutions including Mt Stromlo Observatory and ACT Forests. My involvement arose from my friend Ross White commissioning me to create a piece from the ruins of his home in Duffy. In total I submitted four pieces for exhibition: "Ross contemplates the fire in his belly" "Recycled Flower"(see garden section) "Elements feeding destructively from Mumma N¹s breast" (see paintings section) and "The new suckle the same breast that fed the elements" (see paintings section |

POSER |
$280.00 |
|
**SOLD**$280 AUD (Framed). Price includes GST. Does not include delivery.
Enamel, acrylic, crayon, charcoal on masonite. Approx. size: 800X500mm
A remnant feel has been created by a lustrous mix of media almost emulating that which might be expected to be found on a modern cave wall. (I guess the frame spoils that). It is further enhanced by the torn edge of the masonite that has been torn from a second hand door in my search for flat things to paint on. |

Charcoal, unwashed watercolour pencil on cartridge. Image Size: 300 X230
Commissioned by a friend to do a drawing they wished to give as a gift. The only brief given was “just do whatever you want, I’m sure they will love it.” So I sat down had a beer and created this. They were disturbed by the image I created and asked me to do another. I see this drawing in two lights; one very nurturing, the other quite disturbing…don’t ask me I just drew it! |
