TEXAS TEA PARTY |
$33,000.00 |
|
The installation “Texas Tea Party” has been banned from it’s intended exhibition at Cowra’s Japanese gardens. A committee for the gardens deemed the phallic nature of the plinths too offensive to be in the Western Area Sculptors first exhibition. Arrangement had been made to exhibit some of the works from the show on public land outside the gardens. The council deemed the installation too political in nature to be exhibited to the general public on council grounds. Kindly the Left Bank Gallery in the main street of Canowindra has taken the installation and is showing it on their small lawns. Sadly one of the phalluses has been stolen (Kerry Packer). There will be a reward for information that leads me to getting the piece back. Please contact me through this site if you have any information or if you would like to know more about the work or the controversy around it. |

TEXAS TEA PARTY |
$33,000.00 |
|
| “Texas Tea Party.” Amid the tranquil garden lurks a monster. A monster plaguing the world, a monster we have named the Texas tea party. A conglomerate more powerful and devastating than any natural disaster. Smeared in the oil of their ill gotten gains these vial creatures play their evil hand whilst the markers of dead, maimed and injured multiply. The absurdity of the figures we have created here do not even minutely reflect the absurdity of the situation these people have brought about….and we let them. |

SUPPORT IS MORE THAN JUST A GUSSET |
$550.00 |
|
$550.00 AUD price includes GST. Does not include delivery. Enamel,Charcoal,Acrylic on Masonite. Size: 620mm X 950mm Comments I have received on this piece range from feelings of eroticism to perversion. This has mostly been due to the presence of the tongue. The feeling it evokes for me is one of nurturing and support. The collapsed, depleted lower figure is being supported by the strong muscular upper figure, who in turn is being nurtured by the lapping of the tongue from the figure on the right. Nothing perverse nor erotic, especially in most of the animal kingdom where lapping of the tongue is an act of nurture. Homophobes have been repulsed by this image. |

Iron, oxides. Approx. size : 1.6m high when mounted Approx. weight 30kg
People always love flowers – even at funerals???? This piece and several others very similar, is constructed from salvaged farm machinery and a bit of rio for good measure. Looks fantastic in most garden environments. |

SORROW OF SELF REFLECTION |
$590.00 |
|
SOLD Acrylic, crayon, enamel on masonite. Approx. size:1800X450mm
This painting is part of a study that explores how far one can distort the figure before it becomes unrecognisable as being of human form. The use of a soft, barely visible figure and torn edges is to used to play with the notion that the eye will search to invite meaning from the brain. |

SOLD. Semi-fired raku, enamel, polyurethane. I love to play in clay but when this figure appeared one evening I wanted to take it from its life as a clay blob to a striking centrepeice. At around 300mm tall it certainly becomes an item of focus on a coffee table or granite benchtop. |

SEGMENTED INVISIBLES |
$635.00 |
|
SEGMENTED INVISIBLES. 2004 Grout, black iron and timber base. Approx. height 1200mm. Base 400 X 400. Currently on display at The Green Dog Gallery, Gundagai The grout figure was inspired by a female butterfly swimmer and was originally designed to lie on the ground as if the surface were the surface of the water and the rest of the body were submerged beneath it. After a deep and meaningful drunken discussion regarding a fourth dimension I pondered if one could swim between dimensions, thus appearing segmented. |
